Johannes Maurer studied law at the Ruprecht Karls University in Heidelberg and at King’s College London. He completed his legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Frankfurt/Main. At the same time, he acquired extensive self-taught knowledge in the areas of computer programming and software development. He used these skills to found the legal tech company gesetze.io and to develop the same-named app.

In his professional career, Johannes Maurer initially worked as a lawyer in a international law firm in Frankfurt/Main, where he was part of the Legal Tech task force. In 2019, he joined the leading no-code automation platform BRYTER. Today, he is Director and responsible for Sales Engineering & Solutions Architecture EMEA.

As an affiliate at the BRYTER Center for Digitalization & Law at EBS Law School, Johannes Maurer researches and teaches at the intersection of law and software. He is particularly involved in workshops and the lecture “Introduction Legal Engineering”.
