On July 23 and 24 2026<\/strong>, the \u00bb2nd Comparative AI Law Workshop\u00ab<\/b> will take place at EBS Law School<\/a> in Oestrich-Winkel, Germany<\/b>. Following the inaugural workshop<\/a> held in Shenzhen, China, in 2024, Gilad Abiri<\/em><\/a>, Xin Dai<\/em><\/a>, and Emanuel V. Towfigh<\/em> have once again invited a distinguished group of international legal scholars to examine the impact of Artificial Intelligence on (legal) knowledge (\u00bbAI and Knowledge\u00ab).<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s workshop focuses on how AI is transforming our relationship with knowledge\u2014from teaching and research to broader societal discourse. Particular attention will be paid to the challenges these new tools pose for legal education, the skill sets required for the lawyers of the future, and the tensions between traditional legal methodology and computational approaches.<\/p>\n

Moving away from conventional lecture formats, the workshop features a dynamic discussion-based structure. Each session is launched by a provocateur<\/em>, who delivers a ten-minute opening impulse to set the stage for an in-depth debate between discussants<\/em> and the plenary. The workshop aims to foster a comparative dialogue across various jurisdictions and legal traditions. The idyllic setting in Oestrich-Winkel provides the perfect environment for this intensive professional exchange.<\/p>\n
