Based on a study on gender and origin effects in the grading of oral exams in the state law examination in NRW, the co-author of the study, Prof. Dr. Emanuel Towfigh, Ri’inOLG Ulrike Greese, deputy head of the JPA, and Prof. Dr. Judith Brockmann will discuss the need to reform the oral state law examination.<\/p>\n
The NRW study showed that young men of German origin often perform above average in the oral state examination, while women and migrants perform conspicuously worse.<\/p>\n
Is the situation in Hamburg comparable to that in NRW? Do we need more female examiners to achieve fair grading between men and women? How can grading differences based on (apparent) origin be addressed?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
