Diversity & Refugee Law Clinic

The Diversity & Refugee Law Clinic was founded in 2022 and is an initiative of students of EBS Law School in cooperation with the Chairs of Professor Dr. Emanuel V. Towfigh and Professor Dr. Michael Goldhammer, LL.M.. The aim of the Law Clinic is to strengthen solidarity and diversity in our society and to function as a link between social commitment and legal advice.

In the area of migration, the Clinic is a point of contact for refugees in order to get answers and support concerning the integration process. The Law Clinic will try everything in its powers to facilitate the integration process in Germany – especially in the region of Wiesbaden – either through the students themselves or through collaborating specialist in this field of law.

Among other things, the students will provide support with the following tasks:

  • Accompany the respective person to appointments with authorities,
  • provide information on how to apply for a residence permit,
  • assist with referrals to other aid organisations and
  • carry out translations.

The Law Clinic is planning to gradually expand its range of services to ensure the best possible support to the individuals seeking help.

The topic diversity is not only a research focus of Professor Dr. Emanuel V. Towfigh but also an existing social problem to which the Law Clinic would like to draw more attention to. In this respect, the Clinic is a point of contact for people who have experienced discrimination or who would like to categorize possible discriminatory experiences. In cooperation with other oraganizations that specialize in discrimination the Diversity & Refugee Law Clinic will help to categorize discrimination and to defend oneself against it.

If you are looking for support with the migration and integration process or if you have questions on the topic of discrimination please feel free to contact the team of the Diversity & Refugee Law Clinic with your questions and concerns via e-mail at drlc@lehrstuhl-towfigh.de.
