From August 2016 to December 2019, Jacob Ulrich served as a research assistant and doctoral candidate at the chair of Prof. Dr. Emanuel V. Towfigh. In 2020, Jacob Ulrich contributed to the Commentary on Art. 21 GG (Basic Law) in the Bonner Kommentar. Following his successful defense on November 6, 2023, his Dissertation (Mohr Siebeck) was published on September 17, 2025.
In the JuristenZeitung (Morlok, JZ 2026, Issue 1, pp. 44 f.), Prof. Dr. Martin Morlok described the work as an “inspiring study.” He emphasizes that Ulrich rightly strengthens the concept of competition as a central element of democracy and demonstrates the utility of economic analysis tools for political party law.
